Help - How To Prepare Your Prerequisites

ENROLLMENT PREPARATION

Take your AP Language Exam and score a 3 or higher.

Then, gather these items to prepare for your Canvas Enrollment Course: Student email, Parent/Guardian email, State Student I.D. (SSID) from your language teacher, Student Identification Type.

Getting started early is always a good idea! Below are the items listed in the downloadable Preparation Checklist, that will help set you up for success for your 2022 University of Utah Canvas Bridge Enrollment.

Before you register make sure you have the following:

  1. Student Email* - This email should be either your unid@utah.edu -or- an email like gmail/hotmail/proton/yahoo. This *cannot* be your high school email as it won't connect with the University of Utah Canvas Enrollment Course. 
  2. Parent/Guardian Email- your parent/guardian will be sent a validation code and enrollment confirmation to the email you enter. Make sure you check these emails for notifications.
  3. State Student I.D. (SSID) - (This may be different from your school I.D. number. Please ask your Language Teacher for help to access your State Student I.D. (SSID).
  4. Credit Card - to pay $15 tuition for Registration.
  5. Student Identification Type (select from the types below):

Student Identification Types

  • U.S. Citizen - If the student is a U.S. citizen you will need to have your SSN (Social Security Number). If you do not have a social security number, you will select “International".
  • International Student – select “International” if you do not have a Social Security Number, and indicate one of the following 5 options, listed below.
    • International Student - if selected, it will show required fields for Country of Origin and Current VISA Type.
    • Permanent Resident -  if selected it will show required fields for SSN or Alien Registration Number.
    • Undocumented -  no documentation is required. Undocumented students are supported to enroll in Concurrent Enrollment, including  Bridge Program classes, and to attend college in Utah according to state code 53B-8-106.
    • U.S. Non-Citizen National - American Samoa - if selected it will show a required field for SSN.
    • Refugee/Asylee -  if selected it will show a required field for Alien Registration Number.
